Ever since Valve announced the Steam Deck as the Nintendo Switch’s answer to PC gaming last summer, buyers may have struggled to make reservations to get their hands on the console. They were placed in groups to receive steam decks on a quarterly basis, depending on the time of reservation. Although the measure was taken because the COVID-19 pandemic made it difficult for the company to produce PC gaming handhelds fast enough to meet demand, it meant some people waited nearly a year for their handhelds. did. If you buy it now, it’s not.
Now that the pandemic has calmed down and the supply chain for the components needed to build the steam deck is somehow in balance, Valve has increased manufacturing volumes to meet demand despite a growing list of reservations. If you have any existing reservations, you might want to keep track of your order email. It’s going to hit your inbox very soon if it isn’t already.
At the time of this writing, the Steam Deck Order page shows you can place your order for the 64GB version of the system. Reservations still need to be made for the 256GB and 512GB versions.
