Like many MMO streamers, Zack “AsmGold” has been playing Tower of Fantasy in a lot of new MMORPGs. The free-to-play open-world adventure title has taken the gaming world by storm as servers are flooded with enthusiasts trying to log in.
Jack, a notorious critic of microtransaction heavy gacha games, recently uploaded a video to his YouTube channel titled “I spent $500 on this gacha game…” In the video, he spent a lot of money buying in-game items before betraying the game’s economic system, calling it deceptive.

A gimmicky game at its heart, which clearly favors players who put more money into the game, is something they have despised for some time.
Calling it a “pay-to-win gacha game”, the streamer, as before, spent a large sum of money on the game before giving his final thoughts. His final thoughts, which were mostly negative, based on how the game handles micro-transactions, conformed to a pattern set forth by YouTube user ZTenski:

In his most recent stream on his alternative channel “Zackrawer,” the streamer read the comment and wholeheartedly agreed, saying that’s exactly how he rolls. He reportedly spent about $350 on his first Diablo Immortal stream and later criticized the game for employing anti-player features such as timed events.
And he did the same thing in Tower of Fantasy, spending $500 on the game before describing his currency system like this:
“Like I said, this sh*t must be illegal… I don’t mind you should be able to have a game that works… Yeah, I’m not a fan. I think it’s confusing And the consumer is needless and bad…”
He further explained the Gacha system as follows:
“You should be able to buy stuff in the store with just a dollar bill. Not like anything: Well, you have to turn gold into crystal. And then you have to turn your crystal into dark crystal. And then you have it.” To trade your dark crystals for the nucleus…”
The gacha system in the game is known as Special Order, which follows the simple banner mechanism with compassionate concepts from other gacha titles such as Genshin Impact. This is where the gambling aspect of the game comes in as an investment, greatly increasing the chances of getting a better item. This could potentially help the player get through the game faster, allowing him to pay for the winnings.
