How to Use Amiibo in Xenoblade 3 – and What You Get for Scanning Them
The amiibo in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is nice and easy to use, and there’s no gating unlike some other titles that turn this feature off early. In fact, you can access amiibo scanning from the very moment you first open the Xenoblade 3 main menu, which happens very quickly in Chapter 1 after the game has run properly.
Once you reach that menu, to use Amiibo:
- press X to open main menu
- Beat Management alternative
- press amiibo
- when prompted, hold your amiibo figure or card at the NFC point indicated on your Switch controller
- At this point, your gifts will be unlocked!
Scanning any non-Xenoblade figure or card will earn you a variety of random rewards.
Every amiibo released so far is compatible With Xenoblade 3 – anything and everything you scan will give you a reward. Rewards come in a few different shapes and sizes, including bundles of EXP to help you level up your characters, and ‘collectible sets’ of items, which include a slew of different rare items.
What you get is relatively random. After exiting the menu, don’t forget to pick up the items you see on the ground in front of you!

You can scan up to four amiibo per actual day In Xenoblade 3, which means you can’t use hundreds of Amiibo to grind items and EXP, but if you commit to scanning four Amiibo a day, you’ll definitely get bonus items. You can give yourself a slight edge through it. ,

How to get and equip Monado
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Has the Most Impressive Amiibo Unlocked monado, the legendary sword used by Fee in the first Xenoblade game on the Wii, and recently remastered for the Switch. It’s a one-time unlock, which means you only need to scan the respective amiibo once – then it’s yours forever.
To unlock Monado, all you have to do is scan Charco’s amiibo, It makes sense, actually – it’s his sword, after all! Fee received an amiibo as part of the Super Smash Bros. range of figures, as he was representing the Xenoblade series in those games.
Alternatively, if you don’t have access to the Shulk Amiibo, Monado’s skin is also unlocked when you first finish Xenoblade 3,
In Xenoblade 3, the Monado is not actually a weapon that you equip, but rather a cosmetic skin that can be applied to a party member who wields a sword – no other character class can use it.
To equip the Monado weapon skin, open the main menu, then the Characters sub-menu, and then hit Clothing. There, you can equip the Monado as an ‘attachment’, which enhances your character’s looks without affecting your stats.
Will Pyra and Mithra unlock anything?

Right now, the only official Xenoblade series amiibo on sale is Charge, which got one through being a Smash Bros. Fee isn’t the only Xeno series representative playable in Smash, however – Pyra and Mithra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 also appeared in Smash Ultimate as DLC fighters.
Because they were DLC, their amiibo hasn’t arrived yet – but when it does, there’s a good chance Pyra and Mithra will also unlock exclusive content – perhaps in the form of some sort of Xenoblade 2 throwback item, Monado. like. If this happens, we will update this page. watch this space…
