The last few episodes of Better Call Saul have been getting serious as we approach the series finale. And if you’re thinking at all what did jean and kim talk about on the phone In the episode titled “Breaking Bad,” here’s what you need to know.
Be aware that this article contains spoilers for the “Waterworks” episode.
Jean and Kim have a phone conversation with Better Call Saul
Near the beginning of the episode, we see that Jean calls Kim when she finds out that she asked Francesca about her. In Breaking Bad, we don’t hear the conversation and only see Jean getting increasingly excited. However, in the next episode of Waterworks, we finally get to hear the whole conversation from Kim’s point of view.
At this point in the series, it’s been almost six years since the big breakup, and Kim has since moved to Florida to start a new life for herself. After Heisenberg is masked and Saul is forced into hiding, he calls Francesca a few weeks later to get an idea of the situation. Francesca then tells her that Kim called her to see how she was doing, and to ask if Jimmy is still alive.
This information probably gives Jean a little hope, prompting him to act a little bit in impulse and call it quits. He tries to hold a conversation and suggests that they should hold on, but Kim is shaken by hearing from him, and finally says that he should turn himself in. Jean is upset and begins to erase her past, mentioning Gus, Mike, and Lalo. All are dead, and says that maybe she should change herself because she feels so guilty.
Kim eventually says she’s glad she’s alive, and hangs on.
