Black Friday is another level at Walmart, more so than Best Buy. Here’s the best information on entertainment, games and tech deals straight from Walmart.
Walmart is where those viral videos stemmed from the push-up. Well, fear not, we’re not going to send you to the middle of that hell. Instead, sit back, relax and we bring you the best online deals coming from Walmart this Black Friday.
While no deals have gone live yet – we’re still in August, remember – you’ll want to keep an eye on this page and our other brand-specific pages going forward. These include Best Buy and Amazon.
Walmart Black Friday Game Console Deals 2022
As with every other store this coming holiday season, the only ones we expect to see a significant drop in capacity will be the Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series S. However, we expect to see great deals on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Possible bundles going forward.
PlayStation Direct and Best Buy are both offering hearty bundles — extra controllers, etc. — in the name of providing a good deal, so we expect it to follow suit at Walmart.
Walmart Black Friday Xbox Series X and S Deals
The Xbox Series S is already seeing some discounts halfway through the year, which is great news for anyone looking to get into the next generation of gaming. Best Buy and Amazon are running a deal where you can get a free digital game with the smaller of two Xboxes, leading us to believe something similar will happen at Walmart this year.
However, on the Xbox Series X front, we don’t expect them to be around until Black Friday, despite the stock being more often than the two flagship consoles. Between bundles and the very slim prospect for slashing prices, Christmas is just around the corner and some parents will want to earn that ‘#1 parent’ mug.
walmart black friday playstation 5 deals
We’re not sure what’s up with Walmart’s prices around the PlayStation 5 at the moment, but don’t buy one for around $650 or $750, as listed on the website right now.
Even with the bigger bundle with Horizon: Forbidden West and an additional controller, please, we recommend that you wait and grab a deal that’s a little more reasonable, and closer to the console’s MSRP.
However, if Walmart were to allow people to add these to their carts now and then buy them as well, the stock issues would be eliminated overall. Prices aren’t expected to drop, but there might be some sweet deals on controllers and game-focused bundles this holiday season.
Walmart Black Friday Nintendo Switch Deals
The Nintendo Switch is getting pretty old now, but with Splatoon 3 and a significant number of specifications hitting the console, it’s prime time to grab one.
Between Switch OLED, Switch, and Switch Light, you’ll not only be able to buy anything you want, but you’ll also be the best gift giver this year. For kids, we recommend the original Switch or Switch Light. For older kids (like us), an OLED switch will go down a treat.
While there’s no power difference, you just won’t mind if a regular Switch or Lite version gets knocked off the couch during holiday festivities.
walmart black friday game deals
They’re not typically a go-to for games these days, as Amazon and Best Buy have slowly taken over that space. However, Walmart rolls out a bag of deals every year and the gaming section is no different.
Of course, you won’t find any real deals around Dexerto’s favorite Call of Duty, but with the way Saints Row reboots are being slammed everywhere, you can find that there’s a deep discount this Black Friday.
We don’t recommend you go shopping for digital games here, although the variety is odd, to say the least. Clearly a search from the back of the office, you can find codes for Mercenaries 2 and Command & Conquer 4 in various V-Bucks and Nintendo eShop vouchers.
Walmart Black Friday prepackaged PC and laptop deals
At the close of the day, we’ll break down all of Walmart’s Black Friday prebuilt and laptop deals. Walmart’s prebuilt PCs may be the object of fun in 2018, with both GamersNexus and LinusTechTips publishing videos showing shoddy builds. But, these modern systems are definitely going to be of excellent value.
After the ribbing, it appears that Walmart has defaulted on selling prebuilt PCs made by other companies. Although there is some effort to break them down into categories, our own observations have found the price for an aging rig to be wildly out of date.
Keep it locked in here while we find the best and worthy deals, because the CyberPowerPC may be cheaper elsewhere, or the gaming laptop may not be the best system to buy it late in 2022.
Walmart Black Friday PC Gaming Deals
In contrast, Walmart has been up to date with various PC gaming component pricing. The RTX 3080 isn’t in the thousands, while the CPU and other GPUs are all respectable, if slightly higher than the MSRP pricing.
We’ll be sure to keep an eye on this particular segment going forward, especially as the 40-series and Ryzen 7000 CPUs start to hit shelves. We might get lucky this year and find that Walmart has started slashing prices on components, but it hasn’t quite got your hopes up yet.
Walmart Black Friday Gaming Peripherals & Accessories Deals
Like a tiny minefield, Walmart’s gaming peripherals section is comprised of really awesome $14 mice, along with things like high-end Razer mice. It may be a good deal on the face of things, but a $25 keyboard isn’t going to be a good deal in the long run compared to big-name competitors.
Walmart Black Friday Headphone Deals
Again, you’ll find that Walmart isn’t exactly an expert when it comes to headphones. The supermarket giant has bigger fish to fry than your headphone deals on Black Friday. If you’re after a gaming headset, prepare to resist the urge to grab a $30 one with flashy lights. Keep up with our reviews of headsets—especially the recently released SteelSeries headsets.
Needless to say, this is going to be a bit of a minefield, but we’ll summarize all the deals worth grabbing right here.
Walmart Black Friday TV Deals
TVs are the bread and butter of Walmart. If you want a good 4K TV, Walmart is your place. Regularly, every year, you’ll see huge discounts on TVs at Walmart as they prepare for the year ahead by clearing store and warehouse shelves. Over the years, we’ve seen Walmart’s TVs already get deep discounts, with some 4K TVs as low as $300.
Just be sure to keep an eye on the resolution, as going below 4K is absolutely not recommended these days.
