The long-awaited first trailer for the Super Mario Bros. movie was shown today at New York Comic-Con and via Nintendo Direct for the world to see. Fans around the world had… lots of ideas.
The general consensus seems to be that the film’s trailer itself looks great, from the visuals and the plot to the voices. majority of of characters. Not everyone seems to be sold on Chris Pratt’s voice for Mario, though.
Here are the many reactions to Twitter after the Super Mario Bros. movie trailer was revealed, which captures all the emotions we’ve been going through, starting with reactions to Pratt as Mario.
We think we’ll see this image of Mario in pain as a reaction image for many years to come. This first experiment, Pratt’s voice response as Mario, is very fitting.
I guess if we get angry enough we might force Chris Pratt to re-record all his lines with an exaggerated Italian accent.

Remember the outrage when Sonic the Hedgehog’s design was initially revealed for his film? 9Volt may be joking about bullying Pratt to re-record his lines, but you never know if it might actually work…
Chris Pratt’s voice is still too hoarse to come out of Mario but everything else in the Mario trailer sounded amazing. I’m really excited to see this thing pic.twitter.com/3QCP7oJc0k

Most fans seem to agree that the majority of the trailer sounded fantastic and it’s really just Mario’s voice that sounded a little off. That being said, don’t think it will ruin the movie for most people.
Chris Pratt’s Mario voice is like when your grandma tells you you’re having Italian for dinner and then slams a can of Spaghetti-Os on the counter.
— CANDI CORN (@CandiceLikesYou) 6 October 2022
It’s such a cruel insult, but it’s totally true. We’re not sure what we were expecting when we imagined Chris Pratt doing an Italian accent for Mario, but it certainly wasn’t what we heard today.
Chris Pratt said he was “working on his Mario voice” ????? where??? brother it’s just you

Other fans pointed out that Chris Pratt said he was trying hard to correct the voice for Mario, only for us to hear what sounded like his normal voice. What was he actually practicing?
Colleague Chris Pratts got so mad about Mario’s voice that he was sent home early

Oh! It seems that some people were so invested in Mario’s voice for this film that their feelings spilled over to the workplace. Best wishes to Alex’s co-worker during this difficult time.
I loved that Mario movie trailer, so much and it gave me a chill as someone who has been a big fan of those games since childhood. I’m just really glad it exists. I can’t wait for this.

Moving on from opinions on Pratt’s voice, it’s clear that longtime Mario fans are overjoyed with what they saw today. After the last attempt at a Mario movie in the ’90s went wrong, it’s a huge relief.
We wonder how many Easter eggs and references to Super Mario games will be in this movie. Surely no penguins will be harmed in the making of this movie, right?
Other fans are making hilarious edits to the trailer. Check out the above for what the movie would look like if it was inspired by Super Mario 64.
In interviewing Chris Pratt before the trailer, he claimed to have been a Super Mario fan his entire life, but then struggled to think of an enemy name in the game. Not every fan is convinced of how real he is in this role.
On the other hand, fans have unanimously fallen in love with Bowser’s portrayal of Jack Black. He seems to fit the part remarkably well and is truly a national treasure.
after watching and watching again #supermariomovie Trailer, one thought is big to me above all others: Jack Black is having a fucking blast here and Bowser is going to absolutely steal every scene he’s in

Again, Bowser stole the show for many fans in this trailer and is likely to be throughout the film. We need to see his performance as soon as possible.
