The Creative Assembly revealed a lot of details about the upcoming Immortal Empires campaign (opens in new tab) for Total War: Warhammer 3 yesterday, including a bit that might not have been intended. Fast-paced fans watching the Q&A session pondered over the names of the four factions that would be released for the game as DLC.
The relevant bit can be seen at around the 9:55 mark of the video embedded above, during a segment in which lead designer Michelle Hasty discusses a win-win situation while scrolling through various lists of essential targets: coastal areas. Taking over, destroying settlements, destroying factions, controlling provinces, that sort of thing.
The money dropped when it gained “Domination Campaign Victory” status, which includes a long list of factions that must be destroyed. There’s something like 60 of them in total by my quick calculations, which is fair because Immortal Empire will merge factions and maps from all three games in Total War: Warhammer Trilogy into a single, big campaign. But the four factions on the list never appeared in any of those games:
- frenzied army
- Fecundites
- gorequin’s army
- puppet of misgovernance
Here’s a still from the video where the factions’ names can be seen:

It is possible that these are just undeclared factions, but Creative Assembly has already revealed the new Chaos factions and so the feeling among fans on Reddit (opens in new tab) is that these groups will be released as DLC. more likely to be done.
Of course, Warhammer fans are Warhammer fans, there’s already a lot of speculation about who will lead each of these factions: Niheli 21 (opens in new tab) It will be called Azazel, The Prince of Demons (in new tab) opens) as Ecstatic Legions. , Festus the Liklord (opens in new tab) for Fecundites, Gorequin Valkia the Bloody (opens in new tab), and Willich the Cursling (opens in new tab) for Puppet Puppeteers. it’s all very Warhammer.
Creative Assembly hasn’t commented on the leaked factions at this time, but I’ve reached out for comment and will update if I get an answer. Total War: Warhammer 3 – Immortal Empires will be out on August 23rd.
Thanks, nme (opens in new tab).
