The TFT dev team is dropping a B-patch to address some immediate balancing issues around TFT Set 7.5.
Every time a new set arrives on the live servers for Teamfight Tactics, it is expected that the game will not be in the best shape from a balance point of view. The same goes for TFT set 7.5, Dragonlands: Uncharted Realms. Ever since the new set began playing on live servers this Wednesday, a few comps have been dominating the lobby, much to the dismay of players.
One of these comps is an old friend, Skelskorn Olaf, who is particularly strong with adding Pantheon to the roster. But the biggest culprit has to be the new feature Darkflight, which gives players the opportunity to clone an item onto multiple champions. Combining several Zeke’s Heralds and already strong Cannoneers like Aphelios and Graves made Darkfight the S+ tier from day one.
Of course, players are expecting some nerfs, and as always the TFT devs look forward to delivering with a B-patch. TFT Lead Designer Stephen ‘Mortdog’ Mortimer posted the details of this B-patch on his Twitter, which includes nerfs for both the aforementioned comps and some other fine-tuning. The B-patch is expected to drop tomorrow, and you can find the change list at the bottom of the article.
A Quick Q&A With Mortdog – TFT Set 7.5
Mortdog also posted another tweet, where he answered frequently asked questions about the introduction of the new set, some of the bugs that currently exist and his team’s approach towards them.
A portion of the player base is seeking a quick micro patch to accommodate the Darkflight attribute’s interaction with aura items such as the Zeke Herald, and to address some champion interactions with the Dragonmancer symbol. Mortdog talked about the limitations with micro-patching, its limited capability and language localization in multiple regions. Also talking about how the team will champion itself rather than the unique aspects of the traits.
Mortdog also touched on some existing bugs in the game like invisible units, champion targeting issues, etc. Obviously, these bugs all share one cause, which is The Skipping Stone Boom. The team will disable the boom animation for the B-patch as they look for a permanent solution.
Patch 12.17B FAQ
