
The official website for the television anime adaptation of Yu Tanaka’s Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita (Reborn as a Sword) light novel revealed additional cast, crew, a second key scene (pictured) and a second promotional video on Wednesday. The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX on October 5th at 11:00 PM, followed by ABC TV and BS Asahi.

Rock band Kishida Kyodan and the Akeboshi Rockets (Gate: Jietai Kanochi Night, Kaku Tatakari) perform the opening theme “Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita” and Maon Kurosaki (The Drifters) perform the ending theme “More Strongly”. Both theme songs are previewed in the promotional video below.
Shinji Ishihira (Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchu) controls the anime on C2C. Takahiro Nagano (Zoku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru Script) is handling the series composition and script. Atsuko Saitou is designing the characters and Yasuharu Takanashi (Log Horizontal) is composing the music.
Tanaka began writing short action fantasy novels in October 2015 as Tenken on the Shosetsuka ni Narou website. Micro Magazine began publishing the title in July 2016 under its GC Novels imprint, which included illustrations of LLO (Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai). The 13th section shipped on 30 March.
Tomu Maruyama debuted a manga adaptation on the Denshi Birze (later Comic Boost) website in December 2016. Gentosha published the 11th volume on 30 March.
Hinako Inoue began serializing a spin-off manga in Comic Ride in June 2020. Micro Magazine shipped the fourth volume on March 31.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the light novel and both the manga in English. The tenth volume of the light novel was released on 3 February, with the 11th volume scheduled for release on 29 November. The ninth volume of the manga adaptation is scheduled to ship on October 25 and the third volume of the spin-off will release on October 4. ,
