Rise of Ronin has been described as a “combat-focused open-world action RPG” that takes place in Japan at the end of the 300-year-long Edo period, commonly known as Bakumatsu.

The game’s developer described it as “a new team ninja experience that will immerse you in a historically inspired world, while bringing together its legendary combat action with katanas and the likes, featuring new firearms weapons that reflect the unique personality of its time period.”
