
The semi-finals of the major eSport VR After-H Arcade Tournament will take place on November 2, 2019 at Paris Games Week. An event that demonstrates that eSport in virtual reality is now taken seriously in the video game industry.
The major eSports VR After-H Arcade Tournament playoffs came to an end last week, and the four finalist European teams are set to face off during the semi-finals at Paris Games Week. They will compete for a prize pool of 5000 euros.
As a reminder, After-H is a first-person shooter in virtual reality developed by the French company smartVR. First launched in arcades, it is currently offered in more than 200 rooms around the world. As of last month, the game is also available on Steam and Viveport and compatible with most PC virtual reality headsets.
After-H Arcade Tournament: the winners will share a prize pool of 5000 euros
The group stages of the tournament took place on October 16 and 17, 2019 through online competitions in arcade rooms chosen by the teams. The winners were able to secure their places for the PlayOff, during which the eight best teams were able to compete to decide.
Now, these are the Arcade VR, Piou Piou, Team TDS and Pulsar-REIV teams who are preparing to play the semi-finals at Paris Games Week: the biggest annual event dedicated to video games in France, which is currently taking place at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. The matches will be broadcast live on the smartVR Studio Twitch channel on November 2, 2019 between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The fact that this tournament is invited to the PGW proves that eSport in VR is becoming more and more important on the French and international scene. Over the coming years, the competitions should attract always more players and spectatorsand the prize pools should continue to grow…
