There’s a new Borderlands episodic narrative adventure coming to Gearbox Software this October, where Telltale Games’ excellent 2015 game series is picking up, stories from borderlands, left away. But instead of focusing on the original Tales series heroes Rhys and Fiona, the new game, aptly titled New Tales from the BorderlandsWill give players control of three new characters that Gearbox calls “cute losers” on a world-saving adventure.
The trio of non-heroes include Anu, a “philanthropic scientist”, her wannabe-streetwise (but amusingly helpless) brother Octavio, and the owner of a Froyo shop in the Promethea metropolis. These three are clearly not Vault Hunter material; They are “Dalit, fearless citizens” trying to survive an invasion of their home world by weapons maker Tediore.
On Tuesday, at Gamescom Opening Night Live, Gearbox showed New Tales from the Borderlands In action for the first time. That trailer appears to be a game show with full action, humor and action-figure battles and sharks. like the original Tales of the BorderlandsPlayers won’t be concerned with first-person shooting and loot-grabbing. New Tales from the Borderlands The narrative is all about choices, and the decisions players make will determine how the story plays out.
Tales of the Borderlands was developed by Telltale Games and told a story over five episodic releases. Following the closure of Telltale Games in 2018, the franchise was sold to 2K Games, the owner of the Borderlands franchise. This new game will be published by 2K and developed by Borderlands studio Gearbox.
New Tales from the Borderlands Will be released on October 21 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. The game’s digital-only standard version costs $39.99. A Deluxe Edition (available both physically and digitally) will cost $49.99 and includes the Basic Edition Tales of the Borderlands,
