Next comes DC DesignsB, which showcased new work-in-progress images of the AV-8B Harrier II.
The developer also provided an update about their projects and teased “working weapons, which will be revealed later this year.
“Granted, those other sims have working weapons and MSFS doesn’t, right? Wrong. Outside the Marketplace, MSFS has weapons. Working weapons. And so will my plane. This year More on that at the end of.
This week I’m splitting the work between the Harrier cockpit and the SC Design F-16 Viper, which are in need of an update to bring some new features. Sometimes I have to change plans depending on what needs to be done the most, and Fighting Falcons had a small number of minor bugs that really needed to be fixed (for some users since SU9 etc. smoke was not working).
During the process of updating F-16s I took this opportunity to find out how the Asobo afterburner shockwave effect works (many thanks to Pete B, who provided some help with this). This feature looks really cool and will be rolled out to F-15 Eagles, F-14 Tomcats and Concorde with their next update. Around the same time, Sim Acoustics provided me with updated sound packs for Eagles that include full AI sounds – users will be able to hear the true roar of the Eagle Engine in multiplayer. In addition, CodenameJack has included a head-mounted-display system with the F-16 Viper, and the same system will be added to the F-15 Eagles for their next update. Viper’s flight models have also been updated and are now even more sophisticated and accurate than before (and real Viper pilots already loved them, so further enhancements to the codename Jack would have taken things even closer to reality). Is).
The Harrier cockpit has now been shaped at a basic level, with the instruments and screen being scaled to match the actual airplane. I’ll be able to start the details, as well as the UV map and initial textures, next week. We’re already halfway through July, but most of the current update work is now complete or just finished, leaving the way open for me to work full time on the cockpit until it’s complete Don’t be It will take several more weeks to complete.
Work on the VTOL flight model, codenamed Jack and I, is now working on a unique scratch system to control the Harrier, which is more realistic than the Pelican model or any other at the moment. For those of you out there, our real-world Harrier pilot contact felt that there should be no barbaric realism in the hover model, and we agreed. Get it wrong, and you die. Do it more or less right, and you may live long enough to get it wrong. Fix it, and you’ll be a hero. According to real Harrier pilots, learning to hover the F-35 is like learning to program a kettle. In contrast, learning to hover a Harrier was considered an art form that, if not done correctly, could become very, very quickly. Consider yourself a warning!
Finally, there was some news recently that although the SU10 beta is working well and seems to be stable with all my current products, WASM apparently won’t come with the SU10, so Concorde’s INS for longer than anticipated Will be on hold. There is a small glimmer of hope as codename Jack has noted the presence of INS-enabled data within the SIM itself, and is looking into it, but for now it looks like the next update to Concorde will not include INS . More news on that when we have it.”
