essence
After reading the finale of her favorite manga series, Fuko Izumo feels ready to finally end her existence. For the past 10 years, Fuko has been suffering from a condition that brings extreme misfortune to anyone who touches her. This has had a profound effect on his surroundings, even unintentionally causing the death of those around him including his parents.
As she stands on a bridge above the train tracks, Foucault is touched by a strange man, breaking her leg below and knocking her in front of the oncoming train. However, when Fuoko finds the man’s corpse, he learns that his body is regenerating and coming back to life.
The man, whom Foucault names Andy, is immortal—and like him, he too longs for death. Initially a dismissive, Foucault eventually decides to team up with Andy to give him the best death possible; But a mysterious organization lurks in the shadows, hoping to take advantage of the two’s bizarre abilities.
