It’s night at camp overboard, and we’ve set the camp on fire. Gather for a horror tale from Last Friday at Camp Overboard (imagine a wolf howling and some other spooky jungle noises).
In this episode, we are playing the hidden movement game Last Friday. This style of board game, which includes Scotland Yard and Letters from Whitechapel, pits a group of players against a cunning villain capable of moving (mostly) a giant game board.
Last Friday inspired by classic horror movies like Friday the 13, and takes place at a haunted summer camp. The game is played in four chapters, with campers aiming to avoid killing villains at night, while serial killers aim to kill all campers and then flee before daylight.
The board has white dots to move between campers while the maniac secretly moves from numbered places to numbered places. polygon
The board is dotted with trails that intersect and merge, with white dots for players to move across, and numbered spots for serial killers to move between and set aside . This allows the villains to move faster and sometimes jump off campers, killing them in the process. To keep track of their hidden movements, the maniac records the numbers they move between them on a piece of paper hidden behind a screen.
The campers may not even see the Jason-like coming, as the killer only reports their movements to the campers every three turns. During the chapters that take place at night, the villain does not even report his current location, but his position becomes three undone. By the time you find out that the killer is nearby, it will be too late!
But campers are not defenseless. Whenever the serial killer reveals his location, they drop a clue token, which can be claimed by a camper Brave (or, in a later, less risky chapter). These clue tokens give players equipment such as lanterns, which can reveal villains in certain locations, or a bear trap, which can temporarily block a serial killer’s path.
If the campers can hold on long enough, one of them will be revealed as the Predestination, with the power to put an end to the killer for good. Watch our Let’s Play and find out who survives the night, and who will stay at camp overboard… forever!
