SK Gaming Vs Excel
XL will be eager to forget their loss tomorrow after leading 11k at one point in the game. As far as SK is concerned, they beat G2 yesterday, so they will want to build on that. This was the first blood for XL, as he had received an early lead. By the 15-minute mark, SK had advanced 1k, while XL had advanced to secure Cloud Sol. As the Baron spawned, the lead remained 1k in SK’s favour, however, it was too close to call at this point. SK picked up two kills in the mid-lane before securing the Baron at the 25-minute mark as they tried to push XL in. SK secured a blocker with the Barons as they moved into a 7k lead and looked like a new team after the break. This was the second Baron for SK, as XL would need a miracle to overcome his lack of gold. XL tried to defend but SK came to the party as SK went 2–0 for the first time in the Summer Split.
- Teams: SK – XL
- Time: 35:02
- Kills: 12-3
- Turret: 11-2
- Gold: 64.6k – 54.4k
- Dragons: 3-2
- Barons: 2-0
MAD Lions vs Astralis
With the two sides looking to secure their way to the playoffs, AST are eager to end Week 4 with a positive record. A double First Blood for MAD set them up with a massive 2k lead with just 7 minutes on the clock. MAD extended the lead in mid-game, taking a 7k lead by the 17-minute mark, as AST failed to claim a tower. With MAD advancing the AST top lane without the Baron, AST was able to pin them, claim the fight win and flip the game on its head. AST would then claim the Baron as the game came alive. Baron Power Play saw AST close to the margin of only 3k gold, but with MAD on 3 Drake, AST couldn’t afford to slip. Tragically as for AST, they weren’t able to stop MAD, who claimed Soul Drake before both sides around the Baron. The 2nd Baron was secured by MAD, with AST unable to join after losing a member in a fight leading up to the Baron. After both sides broke each other’s bases, a base race was on the cards. AST came close, but saved their Nexus with only 25% HP, with MAD claiming the Elder. MAD was able to secure the win, and prevented AST from getting back into the game.
- Teams: MAD – AST
- Time: 38:44
- Kills: 15-9
- Turret: 10-8
- Gold: 73.4k – 64.6k
- Dragons: 4-1
- Barons: 1-1
team bds vs rogue
Top v bottom in the LEC, as BDS seemed to need a miracle to take down RGE. BDS at least secured the first blood, although by the 8-minute mark RGE had a 200 g lead. In a typical RGE game, with only 3 kills by the 17-minute mark, RGE had a 5k lead as BDS struggled to keep up. The Baron is up, and it is RGE who wanted to secure it. They tightened it up but the RGE claimed the Baron, as the BDS had lost all five members. With the Baron, RGE went for all three Inhibitors, as the BDS could not stop them. With the base ruined, RGE took down the remaining members of the BDS before taking down the Nexus.
- Teams: BDS – RGE
- Time: 27:48
- Kills: 3-16
- Turret: 0-9
- Gold: 38.7k – 57.5k
- Dragons: 1-3
- Baron: 0-1
Misfits Gaming Vs G2 Esports
Both sides found themselves 4–4 in the division, a crucial game in their pursuit of the top spot. A quiet 10 minute start with no kills for either side, although MSF were in a small early lead. In the end, we got some goals with a gap of 16 minutes, but the gold lead could not separate the two sides. Importantly for G2, however, they had most of their gold on CAP. A 5v5 game was scheduled to take place in the third Drake, with MSF looking to force it. It was G2 that won the fight and claimed Drake, quickly stopping MSF’s claim to Soul Drake. G2 once again secured a drake, slowing MSF’s chances of claiming an early victory. However, a mistake from G2 caused MSF to force a Baron without G2 being able to react. G2 came too late as MSF got the Baron. Another Drake for G2, who wanted to set up a huge Four Infernal Drake Soul claim by the 36 minute mark.
MSF claimed another Baron, and in what looks like a better team fight, G2 needed Soul Drake. A third Baron was next, as it was once again MSF who wanted to claim him. G2 quickly went into Drake, as they quickly managed to claim Infernal Soul but the damage from MSF was too high. He eliminated all five members of G2 as MSF claimed victory. After going 0-4 in their first 4 matches, MSF have now won 5 in a row as they march to the top spot.
- Teams: MSF – G2
- Time: 42:17
- Kills: 12-18
- Turret: 8-4
- Gold: 79.7k – 75.7k
- Dragons: 3-4
- Barons: 3-0
Team Vitality vs Fnatic
A big game in the grand scheme of the LEC title. Both sides need to win, with VIT desperate to move towards a positive score. A relentless early game, in which both sides suffered a setback. In 10 minutes, and 11 are already on board, with VIT having 1k lead. The fighting continued well into the late game as the Baron came into the game. VIT secured it, and the FNC entered the base as they looked to dislodge a blocker. Although VIT could not break ground on this occasion, they made their mark on FNC. After resetting, VIT came back on again, and this time they were able to stick it. Slowly knock down FNC, before getting into base and winning. The win saw VIT equal FNC’s record in the Summer Split as the super team looks to be coming online.
- Teams: VIT – FNC
- Time: 31:41
- Kills: 17-11
- Turret: 11-2
- Gold: 60.7k – 51.8k
- Dragons: 2-2
- Barons: 1-0
