After a waiting period of more than a year, Spirit Walker Udir Resale is close to giving up on PBE.
In a Riot poll among the player base, Spirit Walker Udir was the chosen champion for a complete visual and gameplay update (VGU). The poll included four other champions (Shyvan, Scherner, Quinn and Nocturne), but not only did Udir receive more votes than the other four combined, but he was also the leading champion in votes in each region.
The Udyr VGU team began work on the project in the summer of 2021, with the first community update arriving on June 29. Champions fans or players in general were excited about VGU, but even with a few sporadic updates, the project is almost over. one year. The latest update on Udry’s release date was from Ryan “Reav3” Mireles, lead gameplay producer for League of Legends. Reav3 said on a Reddit thread that VGU was in the midst of the release of their new bot lane champion, which we now know as Nilah.
While we haven’t heard much from him over the past few weeks, the wait is over as Riot released a two-minute gameplay trailer for the new Udir. In the video, we can see some in-game footage of him along with his new stance animations. Unlike their current version, which are mostly named after real-world animals such as turtles, bears, tigers and monkeys, the new Udir’s stances look like they are themed after the demi-gods of Frailjord. Animations inspired by Volibear, Ornn and Anivia can be seen in the trailer, as well as another non-champion demi-god called Ildhaurg.

Although no release date was confirmed as with the trailer video, fans are hoping VGU will hit PBE servers in August. If you want to try out the new and improved Udyr, you may have a chance to do the same with next week’s PBE update cycle.
