
With over a week to go for Patch 12.17, we got a first look at what the planned changes are.
There is still over a week of play left for League of Legends’ current patch of 12.16. But as tradition continues, we get some updates and a first look at the changes planned for the upcoming patch 12.17. The changes, as always, were posted on Twitter by Matt ‘Froxzone’ Leung-Harrison, the head of Riot’s Summoner’s Rift design team.
The patch looks a lot heavier than the previous two, and includes a number of major Champion adjustments. The current highlight of the patch are major changes to Maokai, with the aim of bringing him back to his top lane origins, while he has long been stuck as an AP support. There are also several nerfs for pro-play major champions, with many champions seeing some amateurs as they were absent from the meta.
As always, preview notes are subject to change and no plans are set in stone until a full patch note is released.
