The LCS is over with its third week, so let’s take a look at the games on Day 2.
If you want to read more about the teams in the league you can read our LCS Power Rankings, which are updated weekly.
Dignitas vs TSM
TSM started the game very aggressively around the objectives. He got the first Drake and also fought the first Herald. Although he got a 2-for-2 trade, the Herald went to Digg. TSM had a 1.5k lead and just took second Drake when they decided to attack the enemy forest, but they lost the fight and at the same time Gamsu got a single kill top lane, giving Dig a 1k lead. The teams then traded some turrets, with Digg mostly having a tempo advantage. Using this advantage, he started the Baron and slayed a teleporting Huni. Despite the 4v5, TSM followed them into the enemy’s woods and punished for it, acked and handed over to the Baron.
Digg tried to finish as they had the lead of Baron and 4k gold and Huney pushed through and split, but TSM caught on on the first attempt. But a minute later TSM tried to fight as they were on soul point, but the fight didn’t go well and they got Ed a second time which was enough to end Digg.
- Teams: Digg – TSM
- Time: 29:21
- Kills: 21 – 8
- Turret: 10 – 3
- Gold: 59k – 52.1k
- Dragons: 1 – 3
- Barons: 1 – 0
Evil Geniuses Vs Golden Guardians
We got one of Split’s most interesting drafts in our second game of the day with multiple Flex champions. First blood also came early in the game, when Inspired topped the second tier, but bot pressure gave GG a five-minute drake. Despite Ablazioliev’s single kill and the first herald going to GG, EG had a lead of 1.5k gold in nine minutes. EG was ahead of 3.5k Gold before the third Drake, but JoJo got stuck in a bad position, leading to four kills and a Drake, Evening the Gold difference for GG. But thanks to a Fed Inspired Kayan, EG got a good fight to tie Drake up and took a 2k lead in about 23 minutes.
EG then got a pick on Oleh, which allowed him to get the first Baron of the game. GG decided to join Siege EG because they were on a huge power spike. But with the Baron buff, a 7.5k gold lead and a very motivated/influenced pair, the Geniuses turned the fight around very quickly and ended the game.
- Teams: EG – GG
- Time: 28:45
- Kills: 16 – 8
- Turret: 7 – 2
- Gold: 56.8k – 47.7k
- Dragons: 2 – 2
- Barons: 1 – 0
Cloud9 vs Flyquest
What is that, two consecutive Yasuo games?
We started with an all-in in the bot lane, FLY’s opening level two meant he got first blood for Johnson. Just a minute later, another kill for FLY in the bot, and even though C9 got a kill back in the middle, FLY had an early lead of 1k gold. And thanks to bot pressure, FLY got the first Drake. He also got the first Herald after Mid Kill, which was Efromu’s third. While most of FLY’s 2k gold lead was on Johnson, it was enough for him to get the 17-minute Hextech Soul Point uncontested. C9 wanted to fight for soul, but Blaber got caught in an allure so they had to drop it, but despite soul the FLY lead was still around 2.5k.
C9 tried to find pics around the map, but FLY had a good turn so they managed to keep their lead. FLY then forced the Baron through the C9 contest, increasing their lead to 4.5k, just before Elder was born. Which he got after a brilliant kick from Jose. C9 had one last engage, but two buffs and an 8k gold lead were too big to cross as FLY ended the game.
- Teams: C9 – FLY
- Time: 31:05
- Kills: 2 – 15
- Turret: 2 – 9
- Gold: 50k – 61.6k
- Dragons: 0 – 5
- Barons: 0 – 1
Counter Logic Gaming vs Team Liquid
It was expected that the game would start rapidly in second place and CLG delivered with a great level of attack to carry forward the contract. Despite their jungler ahead and getting First Blood on the bot lane, CLG extended more and gave TL a kill and first Drake. But when he got the first herald, the gold also struck ten. TL fought for the second Drake started by CLG, they stole it and got a kill, just as the contracts had their early lead. CLG looked very disorganized ahead of objectives and gave TL a mountain soul point.
Once again, before Sol Drake, Contractz was caught and CLG still decided to drag TL to the Baron. Unfortunately for them, they were behind 5k gold, so they got acked and dropped both Spirit and Baron, increasing the TL lead to over 7k. CLG engaged TL just before the buff ended as they were 5v4, but that too was not enough and they lost the game.
- Teams: CLG – TL
- Time: 27:15
- Kills: 4 – 17
- Turret: 3 – 9
- Gold: 43.7k – 52.8k
- Dragons: 0 – 4
- Barons: 0 – 1
immortal vs 100 thieves
Our last game of the week didn’t have a lot of early action, except for a few trades on the top lane, mostly the junglers clearing out completely. The teams traded objectives without contesting each other first, the Herald for the IMT and the Drake for the 100T. The first fight took place after the 100T took the second Drake. First blood and another kill were claimed by Sumday, who had a 30 CS lead to put his team ahead of 2k gold. The game was very slow, with only the action happening around Drake. 100T also got third to reach soul point, thanks to another double kill from Ssumday.
The in-game tradition continued in the 26th minute as we got another team fight win and Infernal Soul got the 100T after Ssumday’s third double kill from Akali. IMT then got a pick at the close but 100T turned the fight around as they had a lead of 5k gold. He got four kill backs and secured the Baron. His 10k lead at this point was enough for him to siege the IMT base and gift Ssumday the birthday victory.
- Teams: IMT – 100T
- Time: 30:51
- Kills: 3 – 15
- Turret: 2 – 9
- Gold: 47.3k – 59.9k
- Dragons: 0 – 4
- Barons: 0 – 1
