SumZap and TOHO Games have finally released a trailer for the highly anticipated mobile game adaptation of the incredibly popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen called Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade. The trailer is live with pre-registrations starting for Japanese viewers.
For those not in the loop, Jujutsu Kaisen is a huge hit in anime territory and features a school of teenagers fighting against an army of evil curses – demons manifested by a slew of negative emotions. Is. It also includes tons of high-octane battles, lots of beautiful animation, and some really loved characters. Think of a modern version of something like Naruto or Bleach.
Details on Phantom Parade are currently pretty light, unfortunately, as we’re not even really sure what kind of game it will be, even based on this trailer. The trailer features some 2.5D-esque shots of various characters from the series, but not much more than that, and the Google Play page only shows visual novel-type screenshots.
However, we have a promotional screenshot that appears to be taken from an in-game battle and shows what looks like a turn-based RPG, almost certainly a gacha game as well. Featured below, you can see some of the anime series’ favorite characters against some recognizable curses, with an attack button in the bottom right and characters with meters below their pictures in the center plane. This all screams turn to me, but take it with a grain of salt.
Regardless of how big the action anime shonen has become, jujutsu kaiseen is one of those mobile games that is likely to explode in great popularity. For now, it’s only confirmed for viewers in Japan, who can pre-register on Google Play right now. A localization attempt has not been confirmed but is expected.
