Is Bleach Really Coming Back?

The past few years have been good for Bleach fans. In addition to experiencing an unexpected revival of the anime, the manga series also saw the release of a new chapter and a possible spin-off in the form of Tait Kubo’s latest work, Burn the Witch. However, one big question is hanging in the air that you’re probably asking yourself: is the Bleach manga coming back? We were thinking exactly the same thing, and after doing some research, we’ve compiled our findings in this guide.
Is the Bleach manga finished? Answer
As it currently stands, The prospect of the Bleach manga coming back isn’t as bleak as it once appeared.
As an aside, the manga recently saw new material released through 2021, a companion one-shot to the anime’s continuation announcement. In it, Kubo introduced a lot of new characters that could be carried forward and should the series continue to explore a possible storyline for Ichigo and his companions.
Similarly, anime has seen a lot of positive buzz and interest from anime fans. Should it perform well, it could translate to renewed interest in multiple shots or even regular chapters produced by Kubo and published in Shonen Jump. They can then be released in slow motion either through their regular publication or with their Shnen Jump+ online publications.
However, these factors going the other way can have the opposite effect. If the anime doesn’t get a ton of attention when it’s released, Shonen Jump is unlikely to show interest in rolling out new chapters.
Likewise, Kubo will need the necessary interest and time to create new chapters. He very well wants to focus on new projects like Burn the Witch or a completely unrelated story; Or, he may not have the necessary energy or desire to create new chapters, being away from the series for so long and being much older than what the series originally made.
It will all come down to how the new anime performs and where Kubo stands to continue the series. We will learn more on both topics once the anime is released and if any new information is released we will update this guide accordingly.
