I Am Groot is a short and sweet mini-series created by Kirsten Lepore and, as the title suggests, featuring Groot. These animated shorts showcase a chaotic and curious side of Groot, from arts and crafts to terrorized life forms. But what’s so cute is that it’s Baby Groot that’s causing all kinds of trouble. Groot Fighting with a Tree (Groot’s First Step)

When Groot grows too big for his planter, the onboard robots decide to kick him off the table and replace him with another, very ugly tree. Of course, Groot doesn’t take it very well. The cutest part isn’t just his attempt to use his powers, but how he makes the choice to make it out of another tree, to be as passionate as he is.

Of course, Groot only acted out of anger and eventually knocked the tree to the ground, shattering its sower. What’s adorable about this scene is Groot’s compassion and remorse. He and the tree are one. So, he plants the tree again, covers it with a blanket and also shares some of his food with the tree.
Big Fluffy Bird-Anteater Creature (The Little Guy)

The struggle to make things happen, only to have someone ruin it. During the second episode of I Am Groot, Groot has a craving to build from twigs. Shortly after, Groot goes from a simple teepee to a fully grown tower. It’s an impressive feat that is quickly taken over by a fluffy and adorable bird-anteater hybrid.
Quest for a Little Life (Little Boy)

In this episode, The Little Guy, Groot also discovers an incredibly tiny seemingly sentient life. In case you thought Groot was tiny – these tiny life forms aren’t much bigger than Tic-Tacs. Their voices are short and catchy, but in an adorable twist, they also have high-tech weapons like laser guns and laser turrets.

One can only imagine how great it must have been to see Rocket or the other crew teach Groot how to use the bathroom. Every parent feels proud when their child turns out to be perfect. What’s so sweet about this moment is that Groot is enjoying a good book while doing his business.
Groot vs. Alien Dance-Off (Groots Pursuit)

Soon after, another great moment in I’m Groot occurs: a dance-off. When a piece of Groot was planted and it finally sprouted, we got to see Groot’s dance moves. However, all he could do was shudder. Now we get to see Groot coming out of his planter, saving the day with his melodic skills.

What’s cute is just the length Groot goes to create a relaxing hot mud bath. Despite its size, saving the galaxy is certainly a stressful task. He throws in stuff that’s basically bath bombs, essential oils, and a mud mask.

Groot’s R&R was a little too good and there were sprouting leaves everywhere. At first he doesn’t get too thrilled about the extra “hair,” but soon finds a fun way to make the best of it: dressing. He comes up with some stylish haircuts and outfits, but the best one by far is his dress. Unfortunately, it won’t last; At least she had to walk with a luxurious scarf.
Groot Surfing on Soap (Magnum Opus)

Something we didn’t think we needed: scooting around on a bar of soap. Not just anyone’s soap, but Drax’s soap. It’s cute by an implication. Can you imagine grit grinding rails, walking on a half-pipe, or taking scaling steps? Should we expect Groot Pro-Skater games in the future?

Last but not least and arguably the cutest moment in I’m Groot is Rocket and Groot showing affection for each other. Rocket shows up most of the time, but there’s no doubt that a big softie lives inside. Even though Groot planted a bomb and damaged the ship’s hull, his efforts were rewarded: a color photograph of him and his friends saving the galaxy. And Rocket couldn’t be happier.
