jenshin effectSumeru update is coming soon. The massive 3.0 patch, which launches at dusk on August 23rd, will add a new area, a new elemental power based on the grass called Dendro, and cute new characters. The game’s already vast open world is about to get even bigger. And there’s a lot more to do in the lead-up, including exploring the story, exploring the main line, building up characters, and exploring Tayawat.
While there may be a massive amount of content to parse, we want to make it a little easier to prepare for the big update. That’s why we have put together a list of ways to help players prepare. This advice is intended to address the needs of people on many levels, but it will be most helpful to those who are not maximizing all of the previous material and are 100% fulfilling.
This list is not one-size-fits-all, but rather a starting point to help spark some ideas and serve as a reminder to some potential actions that you need to keep in mind before the patch is launched. Might be possible. Plus, we won’t ask you to save your Primogems, because you’ll always want to save them for the next character you want, but we have our own guide on how to earn them if you want a nice refresher.
End current arcane quests
It may sound obvious, but make sure you complete all mainline quests before 3.0 launches next week. You must complete the mainline arcane quest involving Inazuma, which culminates in “Acts 3: Omnipotence over Mortality.” In addition to that arcane quest, you’ll also need to complete the Interlude quests in Chase, the “Requiem of the Echoing Depths” quest with Danesleaf and the “Perilous Trail” quest with Geo. Shenhe also has an interlude quest that you must have completed before Inazuma’s story material is finished, but you should complete it if you haven’t. (For help completing any of these quests, see our guide.) There are a fair amount of odds and ends.
The easiest way to make sure you’re all away from 3.0 is to go to your quest screen, go to the tab labeled “Arcon Quest,” and make sure it’s completely empty. When the new patch launches, you’ll know the first mainline Sumeru quest is ready when you see a prompt to begin “Act 1: Through the Mists of Smoke and Forest Dark,” before the new arcane quest line. The name of the task.

We don’t really know who will appear in the new story outside of Sumeru characters like Koli, Tighnari and Dori. Since this has happened in previous quests, it is possible that new time-restricted events or other quests may bring back characters from previous regions.
To be prepared for this possibility, be sure to clean up your search log as much as you can. Prioritize quests that use playable characters so that if they make an appearance, you don’t have Zhongli, Ember, or any other character tied up in an old quest that you technically started with, but about forgot. That way, you won’t get a damned reminder window saying you can’t move because your character is doing something else.
Create portable waypoints to help with exploration
If you are like me and neglect your prestige level in different regions, I highly recommend that you go back and make the necessary commissions and reward to increase your prestige level in each city. Specifically, I would focus on getting Mondstadt to at least level 6. In this way, you can get the recipe for preparing portable waypoints, which helps with the search. If you find a point at a high altitude that you want to use as a return point for flying from one place to another, you can turn off a path wherever you want.
build that stamina
If you haven’t already, you should consider leveling up the statues of seven in each area by collecting regional collectibles. By collecting Animoculus, Geoculus, and Electroculus, and worshiping idols, you can increase your stamina, which will make it easier to explore Sumeru by expanding the way you can climb and how long you can run. I find that collecting these items brings comfort, plus it gives me an excuse to grab chests while running. I would recommend starting with Mondstadt as there are only 65 Anemoculus in total and it will give you a good stamina boost.
stock up on resin

It’s pretty straightforward: stock some Fragile Resin or make some Condensed Resin so you can run new bosses and domains multiple times. This especially applies if you have a character you want and want to build later, as you want to run enough bosses to get the Ascension material.
with honesty? take some time off if possible

Don’t sweat the details of getting everything done. I saw a lot of community members talking about burnout jenshin And saying they didn’t even have the energy to finish, or struggle to finish, the latest chain of event in the Golden Apple Archipelago, and that’s okay! There has been a lot of material, and probably will be. It can be refreshing to take a break if the game starts to feel like a chore instead of what you really enjoy.
This guide is here so that you have ideas on what to do, but it doesn’t need to be a comprehensive to-do list. Concentrate your efforts with the kind of game you enjoy the most – explore some more if you like to explore, create some pyro characters if you like to grind up domains and bosses, but the most The important thing is that you find pleasure in the game. You don’t have to be intense when new stories and new areas come in to enjoy them!
