Capcom’s survival horror franchise, Resident Evil, has been around since 1996, and while there have been a few stumbles along its way, the series is still going strong. If you’ve never joined the series, or if you’re a fan long enough to re-experience this long saga, here’s a breakdown. Play Resident Evil games in chronological order
Believe it or not, Resident Evil has a really extensive plot that spans the entire series and all 16 games. If you want to see how the horror really started, and follow the story’s origins to the end (for now, at least), here’s the chronological order:

Note that we have intentionally left out some side games such as the popular Outbreak, as well as Gaiden and Deadly Silence. Note that this list includes remakes of the original Resident Evil games, 0, 2, and 3. The B-movie horror campiness of those original games, they’re still pretty playable by today’s standards. Assuming you’re fine with tank controls, of course.
