Obsidian Entertainment’s Grounded is now available on Steam via Early Access. The game is met with enthusiasm as it manages to climb the popularity ladder. That doesn’t mean Grounded doesn’t have the classic crashes and bugs. Here’s how to fix some of the most annoying ones.
Grounded crash on startup
If your game crashes as soon as it boots, it might be a good idea to verify its files and disable any firewalls that may be preventing it from running. If those steps don’t work, you should try reinstalling the game as it will give you a clean slate. Last but not least, check the minimum basic requirements and see if you are missing any of them. If you do this, you may find it difficult to play the game. Make sure to update your GPU drivers as well as DirectX to check that you are sure software-wise.
One more thing you want to check and it will be very useful for every game to download and install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. Most games come with errors if there’s a problem with your current version, so you’ll have to be diligent with it.
microsoft account error
This is a common problem with games on Microsoft’s Steam, but thankfully it’s easily recognizable. If you see an error message saying there’s a problem with your Microsoft account just change your password and you’re done. If the problem persists, you should try contacting customer support.
Grounded low fps/stuttering
This problem is mostly related to your GPU and its capabilities. If you find yourself struggling to maintain a stable FPS then you should try to adjust the graphics settings accordingly. Your best bet would be to go through the settings and play with them to see which one makes the problem go away. We recommend keeping your render scale at 100 while reducing the quality to medium or low and turning off G-Sync.
multiplayer unavailable issue
Players are reporting that they are having problems hosting the lobby as well as connecting with them. This is currently a known issue and Obsidian is investigating the matter. Until then you may be able to find a solution by creating a new lobby or by inviting your friends manually.
Grounded infinite loading
Infinite loading in video games is mostly a security issue and it is happening because of your firewall or anti-virus not giving correct permissions to the game. To prevent this problem from happening, you should exclude game files from its protection.
If you are facing more problems other than those mentioned above, you should refer to customer support. In addition, you may be able to find more popular fixes that apply to all video games by checking the internet to see what exactly your problem is. A hotfix is in order now as Obsidian Entertainment investigates some of the most annoying issues players face.
