
Generation Esportsfounder of High School Esports Leaguehas acquired a US-military-focused esports league Military Gaming League (MGL),
Generation Esports will continue to operate online and in-person esports tournaments for the league, which provides tournaments for active service members and veterans of the US military.

This is the first acquisition for Generation Esports since a $19 million (~£15.22m) funding round in May, when the platform was also acquired. Wizard Labs Inc., Over the past 12 months, Generation Esports has raised approximately $30 million (~£24.04m) in funding as it continues to expand its portfolio.
The company also announced that MGL will be using the Generation esports platform to host a new competition called Season Zero. The five-week tournament, open to active duty, will see National Guard, Veterans and Reserves participants compete in Valorant, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Call of Duty.

Season Zero will conclude with Championship Weekend from July 1 to July 3, where qualifying teams will compete for a chance to earn MGL Challenge Coins. Details of tournament partners and prize money were not disclosed.
