Finally, we arrive in Malmö for our LEC Summer 2022 Grand Final as G2 v Rogue begins.
Months of LEC action have brought us to this very last moment in Malmö, Sweden. The LEC is finally hosting an individual Grand Final again and it is set to be a blaze. First with Fnatic v Rogue, then the winner takes on G2 today. Will G2 continue their winning streak or can the Rogue finally lift the curse and claim the LEC title?
G2 Vs Rogue Games 1
A great opportunity for RGE to silence some of their skeptics in Game 1. For G2, they can make some significant starting momentum if they can put RGE into the sword early. Despite the RGE taking blood first, neither side ever made any significant progress. However, everything changed for RGE with the second Drake spawning. He claimed Drake, but crucially he accepted G2, although it looked like G2 would secure it. RGE turned it into the Rift Herald as they took a massive 5k lead.
Once RGE got hold of mid game, they never saw the prospect of letting it go. With the Baron secured, RGE began a siege of the G2 base as they bravely looked to get out. Due to their poor base, G2 could not keep RGE off base and went on to win a massive Game 1.

G2 Vs Rogue Game 2
Time to calm heads on the side of RGE, as they want to put pressure on G2. Another really tight early game, with neither side making any big gains on the map. By mid-game, RGE had a slim lead, although G2 had a 2–1 lead over Drakes on the Infernal Rift. The fourth Drake was the moment RGE netted G2. The RGE set out inside the bush of the lower river as they attacked G2 and killed four members. RGE quickly moved to the Barons as G2 6k were left behind and licking their wounds. While RGE stayed ahead and Baron stood on his back, G2 still found a way to win a fight as they pushed into RGE base.
Malrang’s one hero play on RGE kept him alive, although that teamfight win may have inspired G2 to win Game 2. The G2, despite a late push from RGE, and in large part the comp suffered too much for the G2 to handle. RGE pushed into the G2 base again and this time they had enough to seal the win. This put RGE on a 2-0 lead in the final game of the 2022 LEC Summer Grand Final

G2 Vs Rogue Game 3
Will it all come in this game 3. Can RGE really be up for that elusive LEC title or will G2 win three in a row to win it? Well, it certainly all started for RGE, a mark blazing early on to secure a 4k lead. RGE continued to keep the pressure on G2, taking a 7k lead with just 21 minutes on the clock. The former champions are looking out of ideas. RGE kept the pressure up as their lead grew with each passing moment. The G2 may have looked out of ideas but RGE certainly had a lot going for it. He marched into G2 Base and that was it. RGE took G2 down 3-0, going contrary to what everyone had predicted going into the series.
RGE is always the bride and never the bride. It ended with the 2022 LEC Summer Split. RGE can build a legacy now, RGE can build a future. RGE will now represent the EU as the No. 1 seed at the Worlds, and what an honor it will be for the team.
