The latest phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe features multiple characters who are currently off-world with their own missions and logic. So, to better understand what’s going on with each member of the franchise, we’ve compiled this list to explain who’s in the space and why they’re there.
Nick Fury and Maria Hill

Since the Skrulls revealed themselves as Nick Fury and Maria Hill in Spider-Man: Far From Home, we’ve received several details about the character’s whereabouts in space. For example, WandaVision shows a Skrull talking to Monica Rambeau about how “an old friend of her mother’s” wants to meet her, which is the most fury. Then, more details emerged during No Way Home when an agent mentioned that he had been off-planet for the past year.
Still, the question remains, what are Nick and possibly Maria doing in space? The best way to answer this questioning is to watch Phase 5 in the MCU, where Samuel L. Jackson will return as the character in the upcoming series, Secret Invasion, a Skrull story about an infiltration on Earth.
With this in mind, Nick Fury may be in space to control the matter, mainly because the comic book version of Secret Invasion features the war against the Skrulls.
Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel

Captain Marvel is an MCU character who spends a lot of time in space, such as when she helps the Skrulls and saves some of the Avengers in Endgame. However, in Ms. Marvel’s end-credits scene, the character finds herself on Earth in Kamala Khan’s room, with the bangles’ powers somehow prompting her to relocate.
This scene could mean that Khan is now in space while Carol Danvers has taken her place on the show. Even though some have claimed that the story hints at Ms. Marvel’s transformation skills in the comics, the idea of relocating seems to be the best theory because Carol doesn’t know where she is at this brief time during the series.
Like Fury, this part of the show helps establish the next film, The Marvels, which features Danvers, Khan, and several other characters. Hopefully, this movie can give us a better understanding of what happened to Kamala and how she can get back from space.

Based on a new scene in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, we learn that the Hulk is off-world to take care of some things on the same Sakaran ship in the first episode. From this revelation, fans can only assume that she is on her way to realization when they attacked her and her cousin Jennifer Walters.
In an interview with The Direct, one of the She-Hulk producers, Pamela Gores, said, “Well, all I’ll say is, you know, he spent a lot of time outside the planet as we saw in Thor: Ragnarok. And, we only got to see what his life was like when he was on that planet.”
This latest information undoubtedly confirms that the Hulk’s arc will be further explained in Ragnarok, and we may see what he will do in the next episode of the series.
Doctor Strange

The end-credits scene in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness demonstrated how Stephen Strange is currently in the Dark Dimension with the sorceress, Klee. Because of her actions in the film, she demands that she clean up the mess she has made with the Multiverse, leading to an infiltration of lethal forces (a phenomenon where universes are destroyed.)
The Dark Dimension is a galactic place ruled by an entity called Dormammu, one of the main antagonists of the Doctor Strange MCU films. Additionally, Klee is the niece of the mighty, and fans will have to wait for updates on how Dormammu connects to this infiltration and what Doctor Strange will do once he is reunited with his old nemesis.
Guardians of the Galaxy

The Guardians of the Galaxy has traveled through space continuously in several films, including Thor: Love and Thunder and the final moments of Avengers: Endgame. But, now their reasoning has changed a bit because of Infinity War after their original member, Gamora, died at the hands of her “father”.
Endgame portrays a different version of this character alive and well, thanks to the time-travel adventures of the rest of the Avengers. Then, by the end of the film, we see Star-Lord looking at a picture of Gamora as he hopes to find her somewhere in the galaxy, the main reason being that the Guardians of the Galaxy is currently in space.
The Eternal

When the Eternals discover the terrifying truth of their existence and their duty to destroy the world, they turn against their creator, Arisham the Judge. At the end of the film, the team succeeds in this mission and begins their new life; Some stayed on Earth, and the rest went on their spacecraft, the Domo.
Cersei, Kingo and Fastos eventually fall into the hands of Arisham when the institution promises to return to judge them and the rest of their world. However, Makri, Thena and Druig are unaware of this danger and head across the galaxy to discover the more infinite and trace the origins of their past to free them from Arisham.
red Skull

After the events of Captain America: The First Avenger, the Red Skull was thrown into Vormir after touching the Tesseract and creating a wormhole. During Infinity War, we see him again when Thanos and Gamora arrive to find the Soul Stone, where he is now the Stonekeeper for all eternity.
Red Skull makes another appearance in Endgame when he guides Hawkeye and Black Widow to the Soul Stone in an alternate timeline. As a result, the Stonekeeper’s character role in both universes is ended, possibly continuing his mission with Hydra.
eros

In search of the other members of the Eternal, Druig, Thena, and Makri encounter Thanos’ mysterious brother Eros (also known as Starfox). In this scene, he tells them that his friends are in trouble and how he is ready to help them in this situation. In addition, we see Eros being thrown around the celestial communication sphere, an object that can be used to talk to the celestials.
Although the character is related to one of the main antagonists of the franchise, he is nothing like his brother. If you look at the comics, he respects all life forms and has the power to invoke joy inside the brain of anyone, except Thanos (he is immune to this skill.)
Starfox also becomes an avenger in the future and will most likely help the Eternals in space due to his kind nature.
thor and love

The ending of Thor: Love and Thunder causes a lot of change for the God of Thunder after dealing with a shocking death and a new life of fatherhood. As Gor the God Butcher uses his will from Eternity to bring back his daughter, Thor falls in love with the child, and begins adventures with him around the galaxy.
They both use their ship as a home base and fight any enemy together wherever they go. It’s not entirely clear where they are now, but they are certainly somewhere within space, potentially training Love to be the MCU’s latest superhuman.
