Today Square Enix released a new trailer, screenshots, and details of the upcoming strategy JRPG The Deofield Chronicle.
While we already knew the release date in advance, we now get confirmation that West will be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X. The game arrives on September 22 for S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
The trailer is the same as what we saw in Japanese, but with English voice-overs and text, while we also see new screenshots.
We also learn about two special editions.
The Digital Deluxe Edition will include in-game items that can be used “from near the start of the main game:” the Knight’s Spear weapon and the Mystical Ring accessory. You also get digital versions of soundtracks and artbooks. It costs $74.99 (the standard version costs $59.99).
On top of that, a physical Collector’s Edition is also available, priced at $169.99, which includes the following.
- Deofield Chronicle Physical Sports.
- Deofield Chronicle Board Game – A competitive board game set in the world of video games, The Deofield Chronicle.
- Diofield Chronicle Pin Set – A set of pins with four different coats of arms designs, each representing the Rowetel Alliance, the Grenwell Order, Blue Fox mercenaries, and the Scotian Empire.

If you want to know more about The Deofield Chronicle, you can check out the original announcement, the first screenshots and lots of details revealed in March, along with a ton of gameplay shown last week.
The game promises “deep, strategic, real-time tactical battles” in which battles are decided by assessing battlefield conditions and issuing decisive orders that take advantage of soldiers’ strengths and weaknesses.
The battles are depicted in a 3D environment with an engaging diorama-like art style.
