Battlefield 2042 is almost halfway through with its first season, and the new patch 1.2 has been dropped.
Among the major new changes, the Kaleidoscope map has been improved to “offer an improved gameplay flow through new cover properties, flag positions, terrain elevation and visual updates to multiple locations on the map”.
Cover has been added to not only the placement of new assets, but also to raise the terrain to help break up the line of sight and allow infantry to move more purposefully around the map. Can you Most importantly, these new assets bring more tactical destruction which helps ensure that the map evolves over the duration of each round, and provides both attackers and defenders with new options when playing in key areas. .
From the sound of it, players will have a very different experience the next time they load it into Kaleidoscope.
A player profile has also been added to the game, which also includes player statistics. These are retrospective, so you’ll be able to see your progress right from the start of the game, not just the launch of the patch.
Your profile shows your current in-game progress and your performance statistics since launch. View information such as your current rank, the XP required for the next rank and associated unlocks, your top mastery and the unlocks you are closest to completing.
While on the Statistics screen, you can view information such as your K/D ratio, kills, deaths, assists, resuscitation, accuracy, shot fired and more.
Here are the general fixes:
- Fixed an issue with Aim Assist that prevented auto tracking when aiming to move targets
- A scroll menu has been added when viewing weapon attachments.
- Previewing the skins in game will not show the character’s feet clipping into the ground
- Text in the collection screen that identifies the ranger’s range is now easier to read
- Hidden UI button in Battle Pass screen no longer hides player card background or tag
