Better Call Saul is a prequel spin-off that revolves around protagonist James Morgan “Jimmy” McGill, later known as Saul Goodman. Jesse and Walt’s appearance is actually something fans have been waiting for a long time after being teased by series co-creator and showrunner Peter Gould at Palefest in April when he said:
“I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say that when we started the show our first question was, ‘Are we going to see Walt and Jesse on the show?’ Instead of avoiding, I’d just say yes.” Gould, who co-produced Saul with Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, said at the time. “How or the circumstances or whatever, you’ll just have to find it for yourself, but I have to say it’s one of many things that I think you’ll discover this season.”
