After spending nearly three months in closed beta, it’s official: Marvel Snap finally has a global release date for both PC and mobile devices. While early beta players have probably become extremely familiar with the game’s existing cards and locations at this point, the latest trailer shows some small, but significant, changes that will be present in the final build.
Here are five little details you may have missed in the latest trailer for Marvel Snap.
Asgard no longer lets you draw cards

The current iteration of Asgard in Marvel Snap allows the winning player in that spot to draw two cards after four. However, in the trailer, the location effect has been changed to: “On a turn four, cards can be played here.”
This is a huge change for Asgard. Previously, players were encouraged to play there for extra card draws, because being able to empty your deck as much as possible could give you a huge advantage in your matches. With the new change, however, the card draws are over, and the cards placed there can be taken four turns in turn.
This is huge for a movement-based deck, especially since there aren’t a lot of places in the game that really benefit that archetype. This is a change that also makes sense. Heimdall moves the cards to the left, while Bifrost moves the place cards to the right. It’s only fitting that other Thor-themed locations in the game assist with movement as well.
daily Bugle

We also got our first glimpse at a brand new location in a Marvel snap. The coveted Daily Bugle Office will be added to the game, and the location effect is as follows: get a copy of a card in your opponent’s hand.
This is very similar to the effect of the White Queen, which gives you a copy of the highest-cost card in your opponent’s hand, except that Daily Bugle gives you a random card instead. The information in Marvel Snap is important, and it will give you a bit of information about the type of deck your opponent has, and may even allow you to plan ahead and play around with their next move.
more rocks

Another new location is being added to Marvel Snap, and I already know people are going to hate it. The collapsed mine fills the entire street with rocks, and players must skip a turn to remove those rocks.
It sounds incredibly awful on paper. Information is important at Marvel Snap, but so is board management. If your board space becomes extremely limited, it will be difficult to play your cards effectively and efficiently, and a collapsed mine can really throw a wrench in your plans.
That being said, there are some deck archetypes that can benefit from this. For example, anything with Sunspot and Infinity will work with this location. If you managed to place Sunspot in the Demolished Mine before it appears, skipping a turn allows Sunspot to be buffed in the meantime.
Patriot decks would also work well with this location, especially if your opponent has no way of clearing those rocks without skipping. The Patriot can quickly rock rocks to give you an advantage in that lane, while your opponent has to work around them.
Cost and Power of She-Hulk

She-Hulk was one of the cards shown in the trailer, and was revealed as a 4-cost, 3-power card with the following ability: Cost 1 less for each unused energy.
However, a dataized version of the card suggests that it will be a 6-cost, 10-power card instead. She-Hulk’s final stat line is still unconfirmed, but given that the trailer features some pre-patched cards like the 1-cost, 2-power Scarlet Witch, we may very well be a 6-cost, 10-power version can be found. Instead the final build.
We previously thought she’d be the featured season pass card for the Heroes for Higher season, but we got Daredevil instead, and She-Hulk is still nowhere to be seen. However, with her unique abilities and adjusted stats, we’re definitely excited to see how she plays up in the current meta.
new variants
Variants will most likely be the main source of Marvel Snap monetization, so it’s important that they look really good. Looking at the new variants shown in this trailer… yes, they look good.
The Juggernaut already has some pretty cute variants in beta, but their new look in the trailer is even better. We also get a glimpse of a new Luke Cage card here, another Doctor Strange version, as well as a cartoonish Hulk version that players can get by pre-registering on Android.
iOS players won’t be left out either, as pre-registering for the game on an Apple device will also give you a nifty-looking Iron Man variant.
