Cyberpunk: Edgerunners are just a few days away! For those unaware, this original Netflix anime follows David Martinez, a street kid hoping to make it to the top of the Night City’s underworld. The anime looks promising with over-the-top visuals, hyperviolence, and overflowing styling. With the release of the show and the announcement of cyberpunk Phantom Liberty, fans of the franchise are excited to return to this terrifying future.
But with Edgerunners and 2077 paralleling the game, the creators have confirmed that some of the game’s characters will appear on the show. Here are 12 Cyberpunk 2077 characters we want to see in the Netflix adaptation.
***Major spoilers for Cyberpunk 2077 below***
Jackie Welles

Who doesn’t want to see the return of Night City’s favorite Chumba in Edgerunners? Not only did Jackie become one of the game’s most beloved characters, but her character still has a lot of potential. Through thick and thin, Jackie held V’s back no matter what and became a big brother in the eyes of many players.
Unfortunately, the players lost this comrade very early in 2077, and everything went downhill. Even if Jackie has a small cameo, it will be enough to make fans of the game extremely happy.
Judy Alvarez

Judy is arguably one of the most chill and down-to-earth personalities within cyberpunk. While she technically works in the sex industry as a braindance editor for Lizzie’s Barr, a certain warmth still exists within her character. When Vee meets him for the first time, Judy is immune to the foundation of Night City. However, that all turns upside down when his friend Evelyn Parker’s fate is revealed.
What follows is a series of quests where Judy and Vee attempt to avenge the lives of innocent women who lost their lives in the nightlife. Since Judy is a romance option and an iconic character, her chances of appearing on the show are high.
adam smasher

Adam Smasher is one of the most intimidating enemies within Night City. Each of his onscreen appearances always edges the players because of their unpredictability and lack of humanity. Evelyn Parker’s braindance sequence featuring Adam still sends many players’ spines down because of how powerless it made them feel, along with Smasher’s snarky comments towards Evelyn.
It will be a treat for players to see the return of this cybernetic monster in Edgerunners. And with Adam having many enemies (both living, dead and in cyberspace), he is very likely to appear.
Misty Olszewski

There was a constant safe haven for Misty V and apparently Jackie. His spiritual insight guided V through his chaotic times in the Night City. Upon first introduction, Misty may seem like nothing more than a futuristic hippie, but over the course of the game she begins to growl at the players and you understand what Jackie saw in her.
Thankfully, given his popularity and where the game’s story ends, his chances of appearing are pretty high. For example, the main character of Edgerunners; David could have easily stumbled into his shop one day during the events of the show.
dexter deshaon

Dexter DeShawn played the unreliable but charming fixer you wanted to hang out with. Sure, he betrays V as soon as things hit the fan, but in his defense, he was trying to cover his tracks after the plan went south. Regardless, Dex is a well written/and interesting character that the players sadly didn’t get to know very well.
Depending on Edgerunners’ timeline, it would be nice to see him pull strings in the background again.
to be red

Who wouldn’t want to see the Queen of the Afterlife again? Rouge, like many characters, starts off cold and calculated toward V but slowly reveals countless years of complicated feelings and emotions about Johnny. But that doesn’t mean he’s only interesting to players because of his past relationship with Silverhand. Far from it, Rouge is arguably one of the most dangerous and cunning fixers within the Night City. She is always ahead of the curve and uses her years of experience to come out on top, no matter what the situation.
Oddly enough (despite being a possible romance substitute for Johnny, who uses Vee’s body), Rouge is somewhat like a mother to Vee as the story progresses. But other than that, Rouge is an integral part of the original cyberpunk campaign, and her inclusion in Edgerunners would make a great addition.
Kerry Eurodine

Carey Eurodine was arguably one of the funniest finds in Cyberpunk 2077. From attempting to sabotage US Crax’s burgeoning career to finally confronting the demons of his past, Carey takes V on a wild journey through their time together. What makes Carey so enduring is that it breaks the rocker ideal. Caring for your devil-buried personality can lead to years of trauma, shame, regret, and longing for the past.
The couple becomes one of the more complex characters within the cast of cyberpunk with its relationship with Johnny Silverhand and Kerry. Here’s hoping fans can see more audacity from the aging rocker.
Panam Palmer

His return is sure within the explosive Panam edgerunners. In addition to his popularity among fans, he is also likely to appear as only a somewhat happy ending in the traditional sense of the V ending. If the writers of Edgerunners are bold, they can tie the end of the show by doing cameos of V and Panam. Is this specific scenario more likely to happen? Probably not, but there is a high chance of Panam appearing at least once.
She could serve as an introduction to life outside the city, similar to sports. Let’s hope there are no weird tank scenes in the show.
goro takemura

Despite the fact that Goro works for Arsaka (the cyborg incarnation of evil), he is a very nice guy. Yep, he only deals with V out of desperation, but the players can’t help but want to hang out with the guy. His rude and rude behavior while in Night City is a sight to behold. Even his random messages were extremely amusing to read outside of the mission.
During their time together, Goro and Wei develop mutual respect for each other. This is also seen in one of the possible endings where Goro comes to check on V after they give Arska a chance to save his life.
johnny silverhand

The breathtaking Johnny Silverhand tops the list of characters who should appear in Edgerunners. And with Keanu Reeves still interested in Silverhand (he’s voicing him in upcoming DLC), there’s a high chance we’ll hear from the dead rocker as soon as possible. But what else can be said about Johnny Silverhand? This larger than life figure goes beyond death. Despite his flaws (there’s a host among them), Silverhand remains steadfast in his belief about life.
Players relive all their successes and failures during their journey through the Night City. Ultimately, the game revolves around Johnny, and the players can’t get enough of him. For this reason, listening to Keanu portray the character within the show would be the highest form of fan service the show could receive.
